PROVIDENCE METALLIZING COMPANY
Titanium Nitride & Zirconium Nitride Sputtering
These golden-colored, sputtered coatings are extremely effective on items which are subject to a high degree of wear and abrasion. In the decorative market, they are a superior finish to heavy gold electroplating or brass and lacquer coating on items such as pens, watches, door hardware, and plumbing fixtures. As a functional finish, they outlast carbide material on machine tool parts, molds, dies, and drill bits. TiN and ZrN coatings are applied on corrosion-resistant substrates such as stainless steel, electroplated parts, and plastics.

EMI/RFI Shielding
The purpose of this coating is to shield electronic devices from outside electro- magnetic and radio frequency interference that penetrates through plastic housings. By using various PVD (vacuum deposited) or electroplated methods, we can achieve excellent adhesion on all plastic materials including the engineering grades. Our skilled engineering and toolmaking staff will develop the proper fixtures and masks to allow the coating to be applied exactly to your specifications. Our QC Department will ensure that our coating will achieve a conductivity rating of less than .5 ohms per square.

Electroplating on Plastics
Providence Metallizing Company has pioneered advanced technologies allowing many new possibilities of plastic plating. Our system is not restricted to plateable ABS as the only material which can be successfully plated but to many other popular engineered plastics. We also have the flexibility to offer over 50 decorative and functional finishes, all of the highest quality.

Highly Reflective Coatings
The purpose of these coatings is to increase the light output of a given source while directing it in a desired direction and pattern. From automotive headlights to flashlights to indoor lighting, our reflective coatings offer over 97% reflectivity and will never tarnish or fade. With several processes available, PMC will guarantee a defect-free finish and excellent adhesion to high-temperature engineering plastics.

Electroplating on Metal
PMC's electroplating facility is a high-volume, precise plating operation. Each week 500,000 to 750,000 industrial and decorative parts are produced. In addition, electroplating is used to create a corrosion-resistant barrier on metals such as brass and steel that are subsequently coated with titanium nitride or other PVD process. The combination of electro-plating and PVD produces the hard coatings which many applications demand.

Powder Coating
This high-temperature fused coating comes in a myriad of colors and tones and is extremely chemical and wear resistant. We specialize in producing highly decorative coatings with great uniformity and smoothness. Our attention to detail and SPC capability ensures consistency and repeatability and allows us to satisfy the strictest specifications for quality, thickness, and adhesion.

Marbleized Finishes
These attractive and durable finishes are popular in home and office products and can be applied to both metal and plastic. We have developed our own multi-coat, multi-color coating system which opens up a huge range of new possibilities, Choose from one of our standard colorations, or we can develop one especially for your particular needs.

Decorative Electroplating
PMC offers the widest range of gold and silver finishes in bright, semi-bright, and matte tones. Specialties include plating on silverware and hollow-ware, photo-etched sheets, and zinc die castings. Automatic and hand polishing, as well as vibratory finishing, is also available. Our flexibility allows us to run jobs in hundreds or millions of pieces with equal consistency and repeatability.

Antique Finishes
We offer the largest variety of antique finishes in the industry. Whether your parts require heavy silver ox, brass with brown smut, or matte gold with white antique, PMC will delight you with the outcome. Our combinations of plating, blackening, relieving, and topcoating are so numerous that the possibilities are endless. Our antique finishes will certainly enhance the marketability of your product.

Nickel-Free Plating
This finishing technique has become important since the realization that a large percentage of the population has an allergic reaction to nickel, causing itching, burning, and rashes. Most European countries have banned nickel-containing products from the marketplace. PMC was in the forefront and is the recognized leader of this very difficult finishing technique. Available in both bright and semi-bright tones, our nickel-free finishes are indistinguishable from their nickel-plated counterparts.

QuartzTM Finish (Sunburst)
This very unique finish developed by PMC engineers and scientists and is available exclusively from us. It is a defect-hiding finish that is been used as a specialty finish in many industries including jewelry and advertising specialities

Aurora BorealisTM
This highly decorative finish was invented by PMC to achieve all the colors of a rainbow on a single item. Application to different colored parts results in brilliant effects, such as mother-of-pearl on white and abalone shell on black. This spectacular finish, which can be applied on metal, plastic, or glass, is available only at PMC.
